In 2022 I became a grandma and noticed I was falling apart. Within an hour of playing with the grandson I was tired and sore in places that I did not even know could be sore. It was when he started walking and I could not keep up that I realized I needed to make some lifestyle changes. I was a high school athlete, then became a wife, a mom, and most recently a grandma. I never thought I would have the time to work out. I eventually realized that I had to take care of myself to be able to take care of others.
I consulted Dave after watching him for years and wishing I could work out with him. But you know, Big Scary Looking Power Lifter Guy, I was too afraid to approach him. But do not let the Mountain of a man scare you, he has had to use patience, empathy and tried 30 different methods without ever getting annoyed with me or giving up. In the almost year I have been training with him, we have increased my stability, my mobility and my energy levels have increased tenfold. Dave walked by my side through my first ever mock meet and his vast studies and knowledge on kinesiology has been a great save when dealing with soreness and plateaus.
Dave started by working with me to learn about my skill levels, my weight abilities, my knowledge of the machines , the lifts, and my comfort levels on each. He then created a program to get me stronger in all aspects. From there we progressed to heavy weights so that I could participate in a power lifting competition. Now with that behind me, I have started on my weight loss goals. I am still lifting heavy and hitting PR's and chasing some of the same goals I had when I was focused on power lifting. The ability Dave has to adapt to my changing needs/goals, is what makes him an amazing Coach. He has the knowledge and ability to help you reach whatever your individualized goal is. He has even created a cheerleading program for my daughter that has given her the ability to be a better base and to achieve higher jumps and increase her tumbling range.
My confidence has increased, my grandson keeps trying but can't wear me out, my good habits of working out have spilled over into my children's life's and have encouraged a healthier way of life for my entire family. This paired with the lack of soreness and of course bragging rights are reasons I would recommend Dave as a Coach.

Nigel has been working with HBI's programming since last year. He played his first season of football and trained up until it started. He did fantastic! Dave's agility and conditioning training really did wonders for him. We are currently prepping him to compete in his first powerlifting meet in April! He has been responding really well and its been such a great sport for him. Thank you HBI!

I have been lifting off and on, since high school. But, I had never done so competitively. In 2024, I heard about a powerlifting meet, and decided I wanted to try it out. I had taken classes in high school on weight lifting, but I really had no idea what I was doing as far as preparing for and participating in a powerlifting meet. To top it all off, I broke my back while in the military, 13 years prior. So, I knew I needed to be careful, if I was going to participate in a sport that involved massive stress on the back.
Three months after registering for the meet, I ran into Dave. It took only a few moments of talking with him, to realize he was exactly who I needed to be emulating and gleaning knowledge from. So, I signed up, and got to work.
Finally, the day of the meet had come. In only two months, Dave helped me increase my lift total from 1085 lb to 1247 lb. As of this writing, I am closing in on a 400 lb bench press, and my deadlifts and squats are stronger than ever.
As I said, I have a prior injury. So, lifting safely and being careful not to aggravate that injury was of the highest priority for me. But, I am happy to say that working with Dave, learning to lift properly, carefully analyzing my form, improving my diet, and increasing weights intentionally and thoughtfully, has been the best thing I've ever done for my back.
Just a few years ago, I thought my days of adventure were over. I was regularly bedridden with debilitating back pain. But, now, I can easily walk/hike for miles without any back issues, I am lifting weights I never even dreamt I'd be able to, and if all goes well, I'll soon be competing to set new state records.
I can't recommend Dave enough.

I have been in the gym for about 5 years now. Just kind of figuring things out on my own for about four of those years. I have been working with Dave for, about 9 months now, maybe a little bit longer. The progress and strength gains. I have seen since starting with him, has been huge. I see muscle definition in my bicep, and my shoulders. I see fat loss and shape in my ass. If you are looking for somebody that knows a lot about physical fitness and training, this is definitely the person for you
